Objectives of the project

  • To allow students to express the best creativity applied to wood and ceramics models and objects of art and design;
  • To experiment specialization and team collaboration in the  individual phases from the elaboration of the artistic or design idea to the final product;
  • To become protagonists of the design path of the model, of knowledge and choice of materials, of learning the techniques of working, assembling and finishing the work;
  • To take the opportunity to learn and use the techniques of processing (inlaying, chiseling , lacquering, etc.) both manual and with mechanical equipment for the realization of the works (milling machines and lathes with numerical control, etc.);
  • To share in the field, with the coaching of the masters, the different phases of the organization and management of the activity of a company producing art furniture and design objects;
  • To simulate the formation and the carrying out of activities in a team oriented to the management of the business activity in a sector of artisan excellence;
  • Ultimately to contribute to the creation of a cultural context conducive to the development of the sense of belonging to the community, to the rooting of young people on the territory, providing them with some useful tools to inspire with in the commitment in business activities of excellence.

Program of activities

    • Individual interview of teachers with students (to detect attitudes, preferences and excellencies of each one, orientation in the successive phases of the creative and practical work);
    • Theoretical analysis and graphic exercises on various styles of wood art from 1200 to Roman Gothic to Renaissance (‘500), Baroque (‘700) as far as freedom (early ‘900);
    • Practical realization of the work with the use of manual equipment and modern machinery, knowledge and choice of materials;
    • Simulation of the construction project (work mineral, cost of materials and equipment depreciation, etc.);
