Project “Screening Visivo e Logopedico”

Visual Screening aims to identify pupils with reduced visual efficiency caused by not yet diagnosed ametropia. The Logopedic Screening project aims to identify children at risk of DSA (Specific Learning Disorders). Both Screening do not formulate a diagnosis, but allow the identification of the subjects who need an in-depth evaluation.

As for the Visual Screening, performed by the optometristist Massimo Panattoni, among first grade students, it was carried out through visual tests leading to assessments for each student wich were delivered in a sealed envelope to parents. As regards the Logopaedic Screening,  performed by the speech therapist Dr. Arianna Firino, among second grade students, observations and tests were carried out to evaluate metaphonological skills, attention, memory, reading and writing skills and basic numerical skills.  Ludicoricreative activities have been proposed to increase children’s motivation to the task. Finally, the results of the tests were communicated to the teachers and then to the parents.
